Jacqueline Ruth Rose - Jacqueline Ruth Rose,
raised in Delray Beach, Florida, once worked as waitress in Paoli,
Indiana. While living in Delray Beach, Florida, she was introduced
to "One Eye" Bobby Wilcoxson by mutual friends. At age 19, Rose was
wanted by the FBI for allegedly once driving a getaway car for bank
robbers Wilcoxson and Albert Nussbaum.
The FBI described Rose as a shapely, attractive girl - sometimes a
redhead and sometimes a blonde. Her back from her neck to her
hipline, and the backs of her arms were marred with burn scars carried since childhood,
said to be the result of a stove explosion.
Between 1960 and 1962, Rose, then a teenager, traveled the country
as 32-year-old Wilcoxson's lover, sometimes posing as his daughter. Wilcoxson
was named to the FBI’s Most Wanted List in early 1962. Ending an
eleven month manhunt, Rose and Wilcoxson were arrested by the FBI in front of
their rented house in Baltimore, Maryland, on November
10, 1962.
Wilcoxson later testified in Federal Court during
the trial of Peter Columbus Curry, Jr., that Rose was his
"paramour." Rose later told a Federal judge in 1963 that
her 14-month-old son, Kenneth Lewis (also described as Kenneth
Lynch), was also Wilcoxson's son.
On July 23, 1963, in Camden, New Jersey, Rose pled guilty to passing
19 stolen money orders. United States District Court Judge Thomas M.
Madden, feeling that Rose had come under the influence of "an evil
person" in Wilcoxson, refused to send her to jail.
"Decent people will have an understanding of what can happen to a 16
year old child. It will be forgotten if you by your conduct warrant
it," said Judge Madden, as he ordered U.S. Marshalls to take
Jacqueline Ruth Rose to her parent’s home in Gilbert, Texas,
somewhere
Tyler and Longview.
